TERORISME BUKAN JIHAD

Terorisme adalah perbuatan terkutuk yang tidak dibenarkan dalam ajaran Islam. Saat terjadi pengeboman di Riyadh, Syeikh Abdul Muhsin Al Abbad Al Badr berkata, “Alangkah miripnya kata tadi malam dengan semalam. Sesungguhnya peristiwa pemboman dan perusakan di kota Riyadh dan senjata-senjata lain yang digunakan di kota Makkah maupun Madinah pada awal tahun ini (1424 H, sekitar tahun 2003) merupakan hasil rayuan setan yang berupa bentuk meremehkan atau berlebih-lebihan dalam beragama. Sejelek-jeleknya perbuatan yang dihiasi oleh setan adalah yang mengatakan bahwa pengeboman dan perusakan adalah bentuk jihad. Akal dan agama mana yang menyatakan membunuh jiwa, memerangi kaum muslimin, memerangi orang-orang kafir yang mengadakan perjanjian dengan kaum muslimin, membuat kekacauan, membuat wanita-wanita menjanda, menyebabkan anak-anak menjadi yatim, dan meluluhlantakkan bermacam bangunan sebagai jihad(?)”

Salah satu penyebab aksi pengeboman adalah adanya sifat ghuluw (berlebih - lebihan) dalam beragama. Dari Ibnu ‘Abbas, Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda,

إِيَّاكُمْ وَ الغُلُوَّ فِي الدِّيْنِ فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِالْغُلُوِّ فِي الدِّيْنِ

“Jauhilah sikap ghuluw (berlebih-lebihan) dalam beragama karena penyebab hancurnya umat-umat sebelum kalian adalah karena ghuluw dalam beragama.” (HR. Al Hakim. Syaikh Al Albani mengatakan bahwa hadits ini shahih)

ISTIGHFAR NABI

Rasululloh adalah seorang Nabi dan Rasul yang tidak pernah bosan beristighfar. Padahal dosa - dosa nabi yang telah lalu dan yang akan datang dijamin akan diampuni Alloh Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda,

وَاللَّهِ إِنِّى لأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ فِى الْيَوْمِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً

“Demi Allah. Sungguh aku selalu beristighfar dan bertaubat kepada Allah dalam sehari lebih dari 70 kali.” (HR. Bukhari)

Maka, kita sebagai umatnya, yang dosa - dosa kita begitu banyaknya, lebih layak untuk beristighfar.

MENGHORMATI PENGUASA

Selepas maghrib, seperti biasa kami duduk – duduk di serambi masjid sambil menunggu waktu Isya’ tiba. Sambil duduk – duduk itu biasanya ustadz Abdulloh akan memberikan tambahan ilmu agama kepada kami. Topiknya berganti – ganti. Sesuai dengan kondisi yang ada saat itu. Terkadang ustad Abdulloh menjawab pertanyaan dari kami dan jawaban dari pertanyaan itu terus berkembang bahkan sampai keesokan harinya. Kadang kami membahas berita di televisi dan surat kabar dan ustadz akan mengaitkannya dengan ilmu agama Islam.
Seperti petang ini. Ketika kami duduk – duduk, tiba – tiba dua orang berbicara keras di samping kami. Mereka sedang mencela pemerintah yang menurut mereka tidak sesuai dengan keinginan mereka sebagai rakyat.
Ustadz Abdulloh tidak tinggal diam. Beliau berdiri dan mendekati kedua orang itu. Setelah mengucapkan salam, beliau menanyakan topik pembicaraan mereka barusan. Kembali mereka mengatakan ketidak puasan mereka kepada pemerintah dengan nada mencela.
“Bapak – bapak, tahukah anda berdua bahwa Islam sangat memuliakan penguasa? Umat Islam dilarang untuk mencela, menghina dan merendahkan penguasa. Pernahkah bapak – bapak mendengar hadits ini: “Para penguasa adalah naungan Alloh di muka bumi. Barangsiapa yang memuliakan penguasa, Alloh akan memuliakannya. Barangsiapa yang menghina penguasa, Alloh akan hinakan dia”. (HR. Baihaqi 17/6, as sunnah ibnu Abi Ashim 2/698.)
“Tapi bagaimana kalau penguasa merugikan kami?”, Kata mereka.
Ustadz Abdulloh terdiam sebentar.

SPEND IN CHARITY

There are too many poor people in this world. The rich must help those who are not rich. They who cannot eat. They who have not enough money to get higher education. In the rich’s wealthy, there is a portion for the poor. The Two Sahihs recorded that the Messenger of Allah said to Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas:
“You will not spend charity with which you seek Allah's Face, but you will ascend a higher degree and status because of it, including what you put in your wife's mouth.”
Don’t wait.

WHEN THE CHILDREN HAVE TO PERFORM SHALAT?

When must a parent ask their children to perform shalat? Parents should ask their children to pray when they have reached the age of seven. This is a hadeeth that tell us about it:
Ahmad, Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi recorded that Ar-Rabi` bin Sabrah said that his father said that the Messenger of Allah said,
“Order the children to pray when they reach the age of seven and when they reach the age of ten, discipline them for (not performing) it.” (Abu Dawud)

WHAT WILL YOU CHOOSE?

“Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise).”

ALLOH’S GUIDANCE

We need Alloh’s guidance day and night, all the time. And Moslems should ask for guidance to Alloh. Alloh will make Moslems more firm on the path of guidance if they ask for it, insya Alloh. The servant doesn’t have power to harm or benefit himself except by Alloh’s permission. So, the luckiest Moslem is he who Alloh gives His guidance to him.
Let’s ask Alloh guidance for the right path.

NEVER DELAYING SHALAT

Often a Moslem delays shalat. Often a Moslem performs shalat in the end of its time. And often a Moslem doesn’t fulfill the required manner in performing shalat. shalat like this is only done by a hypocrite. Rasululloh said in the two shahih: “This is the prayer of the hypocrite, this is the prayer of the hypocrite, this is the prayer of the hypocrite. He sits watching the sun until it is between the two horns of Shaytan. Then he stands and pecks four (Rak`ahs) and he does not remember Allah (in them) except very little.”
Be careful O moslems!

SPEAKING WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE

We talk and we do after we have knowledge. If we don’t, we may not talk and do. Alloh said in soorah Al Isra aayaat 36: “And follow not that of which you have no knowledge. Verily, the hearing, and the sight, and the heart of each of those ones will be questioned (by Allah)”
Be fear of Alloh.

THE IMPORTANT OF KNOWLEDGE

Moslems who come to the sorcerers and believe them should be afraid of this hadeeth: “Whoever came to a soothsayer or a sorcerer and believed in what he said, will have disbelieved in what Allah revealed to Muhammad”.
A Hadith that Abu Bakr Al-Bazzar recorded from `Abdullah. This Hadith has an authentic chain of narration.

IF RASULULLOH MUHAMMAD WROTE AL QUR’AN;

Alloh would punish Muhammad sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Alloh said:
“And if he had forged a false saying concerning Us, We surely would have seized him by his right hand, And then We certainly would have cut off Al-Watin from him, (al Haqqah: 44-46)

Ibn `Abbas rodhiyallohu ‘anhu said, "It (Al-Watin) refers to the artery of the heart, and it is the vein that is attached to the heart.'' This has also been said by `Ikrimah, Sa`id bin Jubayr, Al-Hakim, Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak, Muslim Al-Batin and Abu Sakhr Humayd bin Ziyad. Muhammad bin Ka`b said, "It (Al-Watin) is the heart, its blood, and whatever is near it.''(tafsir Ibnu Katsir)

Rasululloh Muhammad was truthful and righteous. He was guided. Al qur’an is the speech of Alloh, it was not forged by Muhammad rasululloh.

AL QUR’AN WASN’T WRITTEN BY RASULULLOH MUMAMMAD

Al qur’an was from Alloh subhanahu wa ta’ala. Al qur’an was not written by Rasululloh Muhammad Sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam. In surah Yunus aayaat 37 Alloh said:
“And this Qur'an is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allah but it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it, and a full explanation of the Book -- wherein there is no doubt -- from the Lord of all that exists.”

Alloh knew that human beings would never be able to write a book like al Qur’an. Alloh said in surah Isra' aayaat 88: “Say: "If the mankind and the Jinn were together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another.''

Even ten surah, human beings would never be able to do it. Alloh said in surah Hud aayaat 13: “Or they say, "He forged it.'' Say: "Bring you then ten forged Surah like unto it, and call whomsoever you can, other than Allah, if you speak the truth!''

And in surah Yunus aayaat 38 Alloh said that human beings would never be able to write even a surah like al Qur’an: “Or do they say: "He has forged it'' Say: "Bring then a Surah like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you can besides Allah, if you are truthful!''

FOLLOWING RASULULLOH

The evidence of our love to Alloh is by following Rasululloh Muhammad Sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam. Alloh said in ali Imron aayaat 31:
“Say (O Muhammad to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. Muhammad), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.''
That’s why Rasululloh Muhammad Sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam said as recorded in the sahih:
“Whoever commits an act that does not conform with our matter (religion), then it will be rejected of him.”

14 FEBRUARY

This is the day when the Christian celebrate their Valentine Day. Alloh forbids His believing servants from imitating the behavior and deeds of the disbelievers. Rasululloh said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them” (Narrated by Abu Dawud). We refuge with Alloh from imitating the disbelievers.

MOSLEMS MUSTN’T CELEBRATE VALENTINE DAY

Rasululloh said: “Anyone who imitates a community group, they are belonged to them”.
Valentine day is a Christian day. Moslems mustn’t celebrate it because it means Moslems imitate Christian.

RAIN IS THE SIGN

The days are raining. Anywhere is wet. The right place for frogs which sing their happiness song. The rain also brings happiness to farmers. They won’t lack of water to grow their rice. Alhamdulillah. Then, what Alloh said about rain? Here are some aayaat about rain in the Holy Qur’an:

Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allâh (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped). (Al-Baqarah 2:22)

It is He Who sends down water (rain) from the sky, and with it We bring forth vegetation of all kinds, and out of it We bring forth green stalks, from which We bring forth thick clustered grain. And out of the date¬palm and its spathe come forth clusters of dates hanging low and near, and gardens of grapes, olives and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety and taste). Look at their fruits when they begin to bear, and the ripeness thereof. Verily! In these things there are signs for people who believe. (Al-An'am 6:99)

And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried a heavy¬laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed. (Al-A'raf 7:57)

It is He who shows you the lightning, as a fear (for travellers) and as a hope (for those who wait for rain). And it is He Who brings up (or originates) the clouds, heavy (with water). (Ra'd 13:12)

Allâh is He Who has created the heavens and the earth and sends down water (rain) from the sky, and thereby brought forth fruits as provision for you; and He has made the ships to be of service to you, that they may sail through the sea by His Command; and He has made rivers (also) to be of service to you. (Ibrahim 14:32)

And We send the winds fertilizing (to fill heavily the clouds with water), then caused the water (rain) to descend from the sky, and We gave it to you to drink, and it is not you who are the owners of its stores [i.e. to give water to whom you like or to withhold it from whom you like]. (Al-Hijr 15:22)

He it is Who sends down water (rain) from the sky; from it you drink and from it (grows) the vegetation on which you send your cattle to pasture; (An-Nahl 16:10)

And Allâh sends down water (rain) from the sky, then He revives the earth therewith after its death. Verily, in this is a sign (clear proof) for people who listen (obey Allâh). (An-Nahl 16:65)

GOOD CHARACTER

A Moslem should have a good character. Everyday they socialize with other people. The people must be safe when a Moslem is among them. Moslems mustn’t oppress other people. The people should be safe from a Moslem’s hand and tongue. Rasululloh sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam ever said: From Abu Darda (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who said that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam) said: “There is nothing which is heavier upon the balance than the good character.” (Reported by Ahmad).
Moslems should be rahmatan lil ‘alamin (grace for the world)

HYPOCRISY

Moslems mustn’t tell lies. They must be honest. Moslems mustn’t break their promises. And they mustn’t be disloyal whenever they are trusted. Rasululloh sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam said: “Three things are the sign of the hypocrite: when he speaks he tells lies, when he promises he breaks it and when he is trusted he proves to be dishonest.”
The three things mentioned by Rasululloh sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam above must be avoided by all Moslems.

OVERBURDENED

The world is a place before a Moslem leaves for the eternal land. Just like a traveler, Moslems should not burden themselves. Here is a hadeeth on this: “From Umm ud-Darda (radiyallaahu 'anhaa) who said: I said to Aboo Dardaa (radiyallaahu 'anhu): Will you not seek for things to entertain your guests just as others seek for things for their guests? So he replied: I heard Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam) say: "Ahead of you is a steep mountain which will not be surmounted by those who are overburdened." So I wish to lighten my load for that ascent!”
(It is reported by al-Haakim (4/574), al-Baihaqee in Shu'abul Eemaan and others and its chain of narration is saheeh)
The world is not our final destination. The most important to do here is how to gather ‘provisions’ to live in the eternal land.

SEDEKAH AND BID’AH

Someone said: “Indonesia burdened with so many disasters because there is a group of Moslem who said that KONDANGAN is a kind of bid’ah and one who does it will be brought into the hell. How can they forbid sedekah? One thing Rasululloh ever taught us to do. Really, these disasters are because of them.”
I say: “Sedekah can be done anytime, O my brother. And we never forbid sedekah. Sedekah will reject disasters. So how stupid we are if we forbid sedekah. But, if you do sedekah, as you call it, in the seventh, fortieth, hundredth day of someone’s death, it is not sedekah but you celebrate the death of him or her. And answer me, did Rasululloh, Abu Bakar, Umar, Utsman and ‘Ali give you example on this?”
If not, so why you do it?

CIGARETTE, HARAAM OR NOT?

The MUI fatwa on cigarette made me astonished. MUI said that cigarette is haraam but it is only for a pregnant woman and children. For the adults, it is not haraam. I never heard this, haraam for a group of people but not for the other?
When you know that cigarette will harm you, isn’t it haraam? I am sure that even a hard smoker father doesn’t want his children become smokers. So, cigarette is haraam. No matter you are a child, a pregnant woman, or an adult.

THE SIGNS OF SORCERER

Moslems mustn’t ask for help to sorcerers. These are the signs of sorcerers and witch doctors:
1. Asking the patient his/her name or his/her mother’s name. Whereas, knowing this name or not doesn’t influence the treatment.
2. Asking something to the patient such as T-shirt or a dress.
3. Sometimes, they ask an animal with certain characteristics to be slaughtered and sometimes rub the patient with it.
4. Writing and reciting unknown spells.
5. Giving the patient a paper with boxes and it is written inside letters and numbers.
6. Asking the patient to isolate him/herself in a dark room to meditate.
7. Asking the patient not to touch water for some times.
8. Giving the patient something and asking them to burry it.
9. Giving a paper to the patient and asking the patient to burn it for the smoke.
10. Telling the patient something which is unknown by anyone, or his/her name, or his/her address or his/her disease before the patient say about them.
11. Detecting the disease when the patience enters their rooms or they are able to detect the patient’s disease via phone or mail.

KNOWLEDGE AND DEED

We recite soorah al Fatihah more than seventeen times day and night. In the reciting, we hope Alloh’s refuge from: “The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).”(soorah al Fatihah ayat 7).
But then we imitate them (Christians and Jews) and we are like them. We leave learning our religion teaching and doing deeds in stupidity. When we do this, we are like Christians. Or, we learn Islamic teachings but we don’t want to put into practice. When we do this we are like Jews.
We hope Alloh give us advantageous knowledge and good deeds. Amiin.

THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD

Syaikh Muhammad Nashiruddin al Albani ever said:
“Truly, I know that manhaj At-Tashfiyyah and Tarbiyyah is not free from disagreement. Here, there are some who say: 'Surely, the At-Tashfiyyah and Tarbiyyah is a matter that requires a long period' but I say that it is not important in this matter. It is important that we start by knowing the religion and after that, not a problem if the road will be long or short.”

RETURNING TO THE DIEN

The first step to get Alloh’s help is by returning to the dien. Alloh said in soorah Muhammad aayaat 7:
“O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allâh, He will help you and make your foothold firm.”
Here, the mufassirin (Islamic scholar who interpret al Qur’an) have agreed: that the meaning nashrullah (Alloh’s help) is to apply the laws of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. So, if Alloh’s help does not come down except in a manner of upholding the laws of Alloh, then how can we go into jihad 'amali (ie combat in the war field that we hope Alloh’s help will come down on it) while we are not in accordance with Alloh's help that has been agreed by mufassirin?

BACK TO THE PURE ISLAM

Asy-Syaikh Al-‘Allamah Muhammad Nashiruddin Al-Albani in his articles Fiqhul Waqi’ page 48 – 50 explained:
“Indeed the basic reasons of Moslems’ humility are:
a. Their stupidity on Islamic Syari’at Alloh had given to our great prophet, Muhammad Shalallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam .
b. The larger number of Moslems actually have known Islamic laws in some of their affairs, but they don’t want to accomplish them.

WHY DO JEWS HUMILIATE US?

إِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْ بِالْعِيْنَةِ، وَ أَخَذْتُمْ أَذْنَابَ الْبَقَرِ، وَ رَضِيْتُمْ بِالزَّرْعِ، وَ تَرَكْتُمُ الجِهَادَ، سَلَّطَ اللهُ عَلَيْكُمْ ذُلاًّ لاَ يَنْزِعُهُ عَنْكُمْ حَتىَّ تَرْجِعُوا إِلىَ دِيْنِكُمْ

If you have traded by means of ‘inah, and you have been busy with the cows’ tails(cattle raising), you have been willing with having a garden and have abandoned jihad, surely, Alloh will put humility on you, Alloh will not pick up the humility until you are back to your religion (Abu Dawood, 5)

WARNING FOR ALL JEWS

The time will come for the Jews when Moslems defeat and humiliate them. Alloh said:

“And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture: "Indeed you would do mischief in the land twice and you will become tyrants and extremely arrogant!''(al Isra: 4)

“So, when the promise came for the first of the two, We sent against you servants of Ours given to terrible warfare. They entered the very innermost parts of your homes. And it was a promise (completely) fulfilled.” (al Isra: 5)

“Then We gave you a return of victory over them. And We helped you with wealth and children and made you more numerous in manpower.” (al Isra: 6)

“(And We said): "If you do good, you do good for your own selves, and if you do evil (you do it) against yourselves.'' Then, when the second promise came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disgrace your faces and to enter the Masjid as they had entered it before, and to destroy with utter destruction all that fell in their hands.” (al Isra: 7)

You can never stop a troop who searches for death, O Jews!

JEWS WILL NEVER BE SAFE

Jews’ arrogance, transgression, and envy, earning them humiliation, degradation and disgrace throughout their live and their hereafter. Alloh said in ali Imron aayaat 112:
“They are stricken with humility wherever they may be, except when under a covenant (of protection) from Allah, and a covenant from men; they have drawn on themselves the wrath of Allah, and destitution is put over them. This is because they disbelieved in the Ayat of Allah and killed the Prophets without right. This is because they disobeyed (Allah) and used to transgress (the limits set by Allah”
So, don’t be startling with what the Jews had done in Gaza.

JEWS WERE ORDERED TO SUICIDE

Jews were asked to suicide. Moslem and Christian are never ordered to kill themselves because of their sins. Alloh asked this to the Jews because their terrible moral. Alloh said in al Baqarah aayaat 54:
“And (remember) when Musa said to his people: "O my people! Verily, you have wronged yourselves by worshipping the calf. So turn in repentance to your Creator and kill yourselves (the innocent kill the wrongdoers among you), that will be better for you with your Creator.'' Then He accepted your repentance. Truly, He is the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.”

THE JEWS’ EVIL END

One of them wishes that he could be given a life of a thousand years. But the grant of such life will not save him even a little from (due) punishment. FANATIC WITH THE ANCESTORS

WE DO NOT NEED JUDAISM!

Jews think that their religion is the only religion which is received by Alloh. Alloh said in al Baqarah aayaat 135: “And they say, "Be Jews or Christians, then you will be guided.'' Say (to them O Muhammad), "Nay, (we follow) only the religion of Ibrahim, Hanif (Islamic Monotheism), and he was not of Al-Mushrikin (those who worshipped others along with Allah.”
Moslems follow Ibrahim’s religion. But the Jews do not. So how Moslems should follow Judaism?

THE CHILDREN OF ALLOH?

The jews claim that they are the children of Alloh. Alloh refutes the false claim and lie. Alloh said in al Ma’idah aayaat 18:
“And the Jews and the Christians say: "We are the children of Allah and His loved ones.'' Say: "Why then does He punish you for your sins'' Nay, you are but human beings of those He has created, He forgives whom He wills and He punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; and to Him is the return (of all).”
Jews are like the rest of Adam’s children. Jews indeed are liar.

IN HELL FOREVER

Jews said that they will be saved from hell. Some Jews said that the Fire will only touch them for forty days, the period during which the Jews worshipped the calf. But, actually, they only said what they didn’t know. Alloh said in al Qur’an soorah al Baqarah: aayaat 80:
“And they (Jews) say, "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days.'' Say (O Muhammad to them): "Have you taken a covenant from Allah, so that Allah will not break His covenant Or is it that you say of Allah what you know not''

RACE WITH FEWEST GOOD PEOPLE

Alloh tells us about this in al Baqarah aayaat 83: “And (remember) when We took a covenant from the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none but Allah (alone) and be dutiful and good to parents, and to kindred, and to orphans and (the poor), and speak good to people and perform As-Salah and give Zakah. Then you slid back, except a few of you, while you are backsliders.)”

THE KINDNESS OF THE PIOUS

JEWS, THE OFFSPRINGS OF MONKEYS AND SWINES

Jews were changed into monkeys and swine because they transgressed the sanctity of the Sabbath. Here is the Alloh’s saying according to it:

And indeed you knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday). We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected.''(al Baqarah: 65)

According to this aayaat, Ibnu Kathir wrote in his tafseer: Allah said; (And indeed you knew). This Ayah means, O Jews! Remember that Allah sent His torment on the village that disobeyed Him and broke their pledge and their covenant to observe the sanctity of the Sabbath. They began using deceitful means to avoid honoring the Sabbath by placing nets, ropes and artificial pools of water for the purpose of fishing before the Sabbath. When the fish came in abundance on Saturday as usual, they were caught in the ropes and nets for the rest of Saturday. During the night, the Jews collected the fish after the Sabbath ended. When they did that, Allah changed them from humans into monkeys, the animals having the form closest to humans. Their evil deeds and deceit appeared lawful on the surface, but they were in reality wicked. This is why their punishment was compatible with their crime. This story is explained in detail in Surat Al-A`raf, where Allah said (7:163),
(And ask them (O Muhammad ) about the town that was by the sea; when they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday): when their fish came to them openly on the Sabbath day, and did not come to them on the day they had no Sabbath. Thus We made a trial of them, for they used to rebel (disobey Allah).)(7:163)
In his Tafsir, Al-`Awfi reported from Ibn `Abbas that he said,
(We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected'') means, "Allah changed their bodies into those of monkeys and swines. The young people turned into monkeys while the old people turned into swine.'' Shayban An-Nahwi reported that Qatadah commented on,
(We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected''), "These people were turned into howling monkeys with tails, after being men and women.''
Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Ibn `Abbas said, "Those who violated the sanctity of the Sabbath were turned into monkeys, then they perished without offspring.'' Ad-Dahhak said that Ibn `Abbas said, "Allah turned them into monkeys because of their sins. They only lived on the earth for three days, for no transformed person ever lives more than three days. They did not eat, drink or have offspring. Allah transformed their shapes into monkeys, and He does what He wills, with whom He wills and He changes the shape of whomever He wills. On the other hand, Allah created the monkeys, swines and the rest of the creation in the six days (of creation) that He mentioned in His Book.''
That’s Jews, they will always break their promises.

ADVICE FOR PALESTINIANS

O brothers of Palestine here are two aayaat of al Qur'an. May Alloh helps you all. Amiin.

O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allâh, He will help you and make your foothold firm. (Muhammad: 7)

Allâh has promised those among you who believe and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the land, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islâm). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh). (An-Noor: 55)

PALESTINE DOESN’T NEED AMERICA

JEWS ARE ENEMIES FOREVERMORE

Moslems are disallowed to take Jews as companions. Here are Alloh’s sayings:

O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitânah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayât (proofs, verses, evidences) if you understand.( Aal-'Imraan: 118)

Lo! You are the ones who love them but they love you not, and you believe in all the Scriptures [i.e. you believe in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injîl (Gospel), while they disbelieve in your Book, the Qur'ân]. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe." But when they are alone, they bite the tips of their fingers at you in rage. Say: "Perish in your rage. Certainly, Allâh knows what is in the breasts (all the secrets)." ( Aal-'Imraan: 119)

If a good befalls you, it grieves them, but if some evil overtakes you, they rejoice at it. But if you remain patient and become Al-Muttaqûn (the pious.), not the least harm will their cunning do to you. Surely, Allâh surrounds all that they do.( Aal-'Imraan: 120)

ISLAMIC SCHOLARS ARE FORTRESSES

Qutaibah bin Sa’id said: “When Ats – Tsauri passed away, wara’ was gone with him; when Asy – Syafi’i passed away, sunnahs were gone with him; and when Ahmad bin Hambal passed away, bid’ah showed up.

THE FORBIDDEN LAND

Remember what the Jews said when they were asked to enter Palestine: They said: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! We shall never enter it as long as they are there. So, go you and your Lord and fight you two, we are sitting right here."( al Maaidah aayaat 24). They are coward. They didn’t want to fight but just sat and waited Moses brought victory to them.
That’s why Alloh said: (Allâh) said: "Therefore it (this holy land) is forbidden to them for forty years; in distraction they will wander through the land. So be not sorrowful over the people who are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious and disobedient to Allâh)."( al Maaidah aayaat 26)
Palestine is a forbidden land for the Jews. Not the promised land.

EVEN A SPAN, PALESTINE ISN’T FOR JEWS

And (remember) when Mûsâ (Moses) said to his people: "O my people! Remember the Favour of Allâh to you: when He made Prophets among you, made you kings and gave you what He had not given to any other among the 'آlamîn (mankind and jinn of your time-period, in the past)."( al Maaidah aayaat 20)
"O my people! Enter the holy land (Palestine) which Allâh has assigned to you and turn not back (in flight); for then you will be returned as losers."( al Maaidah aayaat 21)
They said: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! In it (this holy land) are a people of great strength, and we shall never enter it till they leave it; when they leave, then we will enter."( al Maaidah aayaat 22)
Two men of those who feared (Allâh and) on whom Allâh had bestowed His Grace (they were Yûsha' and Kâlab) said: "Assault them through the gate; for when you are in, victory will be yours; and put your trust in Allâh if you are believers indeed."( al Maaidah aayaat 23)
They said: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! We shall never enter it as long as they are there. So, go you and your Lord and fight you two, we are sitting right here."( al Maaidah aayaat 24)
He [Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! I have power only over myself and my brother, so separate us from the people who are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious and disobedient to Allâh)!"( al Maaidah aayaat 25)
(Allâh) said: "Therefore it (this holy land) is forbidden to them for forty years; in distraction they will wander through the land. So be not sorrowful over the people who are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious and disobedient to Allâh)."( al Maaidah aayaat 26)
What will you say o Jews?

TIRED OF SUPPLICATION

Abdulloh was tired of supplication. He said he had prayed for the help of Alloh. But the help never came. So now he stops praying and finds it useless.
He now is not easy to be found in the mosque. Ustadz Abdurrohman who doesn’t see him for some days asks me about him. I tell ustad Abdurrohman about his condition and I think he can understand Abdulloh’s problem. Before we separate, ustadz Abdurrohman said: “Son, tell Abdulloh about this hadeeth: From Nu'maan ibn Basheer radiyallaahu 'anhu who said that Allaah's Messenger said: Supplication (ad-Du'aa) is worship, your Lord the Mighty and Majestic said: "Call upon Me – I will respond to your invocation." (Ghafir 40:60). It is reported by Ahmad and others. Don’t forget.” “Insya Alloh”, I say.
I always remember Alloh said: "Call upon Me – I will respond to your invocation." It makes me composed.

JEALOUSY

“I don’t like him and I don’t want to see him anymore!”, Ridho yelled. He didn’t want to go to the mosque to learn reciting Al Qur’an because he hated his friend, Thalhah. Ridho said that Thalhah had anything and he was always proud of his goods. Ridho was jealous because he didn’t have things like Thalhah had.
When ustadz Abdurrohman didn’t find Ridho that afternoon, he came to Ridho’s house to know why Ridho didn’t come to the mosque. Ridho told ustadz Abdurrohman about his problem.
“Listen, Ridho. Haven’t you heard about Rasululloh ever said about envy? Listen carefully. From Ibn Mas'ood (radiyallaahu 'anhumaa) who said that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam) said: There is to be no envy except with regard to two: A man whom Allaah has given wealth which he strives to spend righteously, and a man to whom Allaah has given the Wisdom (i.e. the Qur'aan) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others. It was reported by al-Bukharee. So, do you act right thing?” “I am sorry ustadz. I won’t do it again”, Ridho replied.

WATCH YOUR MOUTH

A friend and a student of Imam Ahmad ibn Hambal came to visit Imam Ahmad rahimahulloh who was sick. He found him moaning because of suffering pain. By watching so, he said: “Hey Abu Abdulloh (Imam Ahmad), you are moaning, don’t you know that Thawus ever said: “In truth, Angel writes even the moaning of a sick man because Alloh said: “Not a word does he (or she) utter but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).” (Qaaf: 18). Imam Ahmad rahimahulloh stopped moaning.
Whatever we say, there is an Angel who writes it and Alloh subhanahu wa ta’ala will reward it with good or bad reward. It depends on the saying.

TIME TO REST

One of my friend who are always busy said: “When will I have time to rest? Listen, I have to get up at three o’clock every morning. After doing praying, I work. Arriving home from work in the afternoon, I have to teach my children. And I also have to study. I can lay my body on my bed after the clock rings eleven times in the night. I am tired of these ceaseless activities. Can I have my free time?”
Actually I feel the same. I think I am like a robot. Doing the same things everyday and it seems I don’t have a time to relax. I think it will be nice to have free time all day long. Free from duties and going sightseeing or watching television.
Suddenly, ustadz Abdurrahman sat between us. He patted my shoulder and said: “So you want to have free time, right?” I and my friend replied: “Yes, ustadz. That’s true”. “Well, of course you may have free time once in a while. But have you heard a hadeeth from Ibn 'Abbaas radiyallaahu 'anhumaa about this?” My friend answered: “No, we haven’t ustadz.” “Okay, just listen! From Ibn 'Abbaas (radiyallaahu 'anhumaa) who said that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam) said: “There are two blessings which many people lose: health and free time.” This hadeeth was reported by al-Bukharee.
“So now, what do you think? Do you still want to have plenty of time to be free?” I and my friend just looked at each other and smiled to ustadz Abdurrahman.

WE HAVE TO RESPONSIBLE

Whatever you are, you responsible with what you do. If you are a president you responsible for the people you lead, if you are a teacher you responsible for the students you teach. Even you are only a father, you responsible for the family you have. You will be asked about what you have done. And you have to responsible. Here is a hadeeth that tell us about our responsibility: From 'Umar (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who said that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam) said: “Each of you is a guardian and is responsible for those whom he is in charge of. So the ruler is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects; a man is the guardian of his family and is responsible for those under his care; a woman is a guardian of her husband's home and is responsible for those under her care; a servant is the guardian of his master's wealth and is responsible for that which he is entrusted with; and a man is the guardian of his father's wealth and is responsible fore what is under his care. So each one of you is a guardian and is responsible for what he is entrusted with.” (Reported by al-Bukharee)

MIGRATING TO ISLAMIC COUNTRY

TIME magazine reported that one of two Muslim women, LISA VALENTINE, said: “It's our constitutional right that we can have our religious practices, no matter if it's a courtroom or not”, when a Georgia judge barred from entering his courtroom because they were wearing Islamic headscarves.
So, what do they wait?

WHAT IS THE RESULT OF WHAT THEY CALLED IT AS JIHAD?

By bombing, kidnapping and hijacking, then, what is the result? Do they get victory? Can they rule the world? Are there more and more people who embrace Islam after what they do? Do Islamic countries become more prospered because of this? As you see and hear they do not get the wanted result but, as said by Shaykh Saalih ibn Fowzaan: “Terrorism only causes Muslims living in their own countries to be killed as you are now witnessing. This is not from the affairs of Da'wah, nor is it from the affairs of Jihaad. Likewise bombings and causing destruction, this only draws great evil upon the Muslims as is now happening…”

CALLING FOR JIHAD

According to Osama bin Laden, attacking United States is jihad, holy war. America is an infidel country which has done evil to Islamic countries. For the sake of God, he thought, exploding the country is allowed. Indeed, America has attacked some Islamic countries, killed so many Moslems. But, killing innocent people is injustice and Islam does not accept this. Alloh said in hadeeth qudsee: “O My servants, indeed I have forbidden oppression upon Myself and I have also made it forbidden amongst yourselves, hence to not oppress each other”
Nowadays, there are some militant Moslems who are ignorance with their religion teaching, bombing, taking innocent people hostage or even killing them. And they also say that it is jihad. It’s true that Rasululloh Muhammad sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam asked Moslem to combat evil. But if fighting an evil leads to a greater one, that fight is forbidden.
Syaikh ‘Abdul ‘Aziz bin ‘Abdulloh bin Bazz rahimahulloh said that jihad is:
- a collective obligation and, as such, if it is undertaken by sufficient enough people it is no longer obligatory upon the rest.
- jihaad could become an individual obligation if the Imaam calls upon whoever is fit and suitable for it. Rasululloh Muhammad sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam said: “If you are called to go to fight, then answer the call”
- jihad also becomes an individual obligation if an enemy attacks any of the Moslem lands.
- Jihad is also an individual obligation when a man is either amongst the ranks of the Muslims fighting the enemy or when the Muslims are lining up in preparation to fight the enemy.
- Other than in these situations, jihaad is Sunnah and is one of the most virtuous of deeds.

FOLLOWING IMAAM BLINDLY

Four Imaams never asked people to follow anything they said. On the contrary, they said that it is an obligation to accept the saheeh Hadeeth, and to give up following their opinions which contradict it. Here are what they said according to it: Imaam Abu Haneefah rahimahulloh said: "When a hadeeth is found to be saheeh, then that is my madhhab." Imaam Malik ibn Anas rahimahulloh said: "Truly I am only a mortal: I make mistakes (sometimes) and I am correct (sometimes). Therefore, look into my opinions: all that agrees with the Book and the Sunnah, accept it; and all that does not agree with the Book and the Sunnah, ignore it." Imam ash Shaafi’ee rahimahulloh said: "For everything I say, if there is something authentic from the Prophet (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) contrary to my saying, then the hadeeth of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) comes first, so do not follow my opinion." Imaam Ahmad ibn Hambal said: "Do not follow my opinion; neither follow the opinion of Maalik, nor Shaafi'ee, nor Awzaa'i, nor Thawri, but take from where they took."
That’s what they said. They are great ulama’ ever born. According to their sayings it is known that following them blindly and fanatically is wrong.

RECITING AL QUR’AN

Reciting Al qur’an is not like reciting any other books. Here is what Rasululloh sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam said about reciting al Qur’an:
'Uqbah Ibn 'Aamir radhi-yallaahu 'anhu relates that Allaah's Messenger sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam came out when we were in as-Suffah and said: Are there any of you who would wish to go every day to Buthaan or al-'Aeeq [i.e., the name of two ditches in al-Madeenah] in the early morning and return from it with two she-camels without incurring any sin or severing relations? We [the companions] said: "We would indeed love that, O Messenger of Allaah". He sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam said: Then you should go to the mosque and acquire some knowledge, or recite two aayaat from the Book of Allaah, that would be better for you than two she-camels, and three aayaat are better than three she-camels, and four aayaat are better than four she-camels, and the same for a like number of male camels [Muslim 1/553]

ULAMA’ PERSONALITY

Generally, Ulama’ have captivating personality. They become captivating because they have praiseworthy habit. They do not pretend to be a good person. They really believe that what they do will be exchanged with the better one by Alloh subhanahu wa ta’ala. Here is an example of this: Shaykh Husayn al-‘Awaa.ishah narrated Shaykh Muhammad Naasiruddeen al-Albaanee himself used to pass by the houses of his students in his car waking them up for Salaatul-Fajr.

THE OTHER PATH

“If anyone contends with the messenger even after guidance has been plainly conveyed to him, and follows a path other than that becoming to men of faith, We shall leave him in the path he has chosen, and land him in hell, - what an evil refuge!” (an Nisa:115)

CHANGING NAME AFTER PILGRIMAGE TO MECCA

Indonesian people, who have come home from pilgrimage to Mecca, usually change their names. The great prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, often changed bad names to good ones. If the people change their names to follow what had been done by their great prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, not because they had visited Mecca or the Prophet mosque, it is allowed. But if the people do it because they had visited Mecca or Medina or because they had done the pilgrimage, it is not allowed since it is a bid’ah, not a sunnah.

DON’T TALK TOO MUCH

It’s hard not to be enticed to talk on interesting topic. Often we talk on a topic although we do not have any knowledge on it. We talk as if we know anything and commonly, we want other people think we have information on each topics. If we, the Moslems do this, it reflects that we are ordinary people. Great people talk when it is time to talk and they keep silent when it is time to be silent. Here is a hadeeth which tell us not to talk too much: On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day speak good, or keep silent (It was related by al-Bukhari and Muslim).
These are the words of great prophet Muhammad shalallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Check his hadeeth. We will know that He was a man who talked only if necessary.

ZAM – ZAM WATER

Al Humaidi rahimahulloh ever said: “Once, I sat beside Sufyan bin ‘Uyainah rahimahulloh and then he conveyed to us a hadeeth:
“Zam – zam water depends on the intention of one who drinks it”
Suddenly, a man stood up and said: “O, Abu Muhammad, it is a saheeh hadeeth, isn’t it? He answered: “That’s right”. Then the man said: “I drank a bucket full of zam – zam water by intention that you will convey to me a hundred hadeeth”. So Sufyan rahimahulloh said to him: “Sit down”. The man sat down and Sufyan rahimahulloh conveyed a hundred hadeeths to him.

BE BALANCED

Sometimes, someone did something exasperated to us and this makes us so angry. It is like that it is better for us not to see him or her. But, often, we meet a person who is very kind. We think this person completely perfect and we are willing to do anything for him or her.
For Moslems, if they are in the condition above, the best thing is being moderate in loving and hating. Rasululloh salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam taught us to be moderate. Here is a hadeeth that show this:

From Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who said that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam) said: Love the one whom you love to a certain degree (moderately), perhaps one day he will be someone for whom you have hatred, and hate the one for whom you have hatred to a certain degree (moderately), perhaps one day he will be one whom you love.

(at-Tirmidhee no. 1997)
It is, indeed, a hard thing. But Rasululloh asked us to do so. It means, although it is hard, it can be done.

Syaikh Ibnu Bazz ever said that driving too fast was includes causing death. Hearing this, Syaikh Albani laughed and said: “This is a fatwa of a person who never know how great driving fast is”. The learner said: “I will report this to Syaikh Ibnu Bazz. Syaikh Albani answered: “Go ahead”
Some days later, the learner met Syaikh Ibnu Bazz. He reported what Syaikh Albani did. By hearing this Syaikh Ibnu Bazz laughed and said: “Tell him: This is a fatwa of a person who never know how great getting assessment is.”

WHEN WILL JIHAD BE AN OBLIGATORY?

Initially, jihad is fardhu kifayah – if a class of Moslem has done it, it is not a compulsory for the others. But jihad can be an obligatory in some conditions:
1. When Moslems have faced the enemy in a battleground. It is haraam to leave it. Alloh subhanahu wa ta’ala said: “O ye who believe! When ye meet a force, be firm, and call Alloh remembrance much (and often); that ye may prosper”(Al Anfal:45)
2. When the disbelievers have attacked a country, it is a compulsory for the people of the country to defend.
3. When the Imaam (the Moslems’ leader) have asked the people to do jihad.
Alloh Subhanahu wa ta’ala said: “O ye who believe! What is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Alloh, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the hereafter” (At Taubah: 38)
The prophet Shalallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam also said: “And when you are called for jihad, you should come out at once” (Bukharee: no. 2970)

Well, actually how is Bible to Moslems?
Bible was sent down upon Jesus by Alloh Subhanahu wa ta’ala. But then the mankind changed and corrupted it. And Koran was sent down to Muhammad sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam to rectify that which was corrupted by mankind in the Bible and to return it to the original teachings of Alloh Subhanahu wa ta’ala.
As said by Alloh in the holy Koran: “And unto you (O Muhammad) have We revealed the Scripture (Koran) with the truth, confirming whatever Scripture was before it, and a watcher/corrector over it.”(Al Maidah:48).
Bush said right thing.

EARTHQUAKE IS A SIGN

Bandung is under earthquake menace. Today, we watch news about the earthquake more often. It scares us. Tsunami happened in Aceh never forgotten.
In Islam earthquake is a sign from Alloh Subhanahu wa ta’ala. Here are two hadeeths that tell us about the earthquake:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until (religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious learned men), earthquakes will be very frequent, time will pass quickly, afflictions will appear, murders will increase and money will overflow amongst you."(Bukharee:979)
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established (1) till two big groups fight each other whereupon there will be a great number of casualties on both sides and they will be following one and the same religious doctrine, (2) till about thirty Dajjals (liars) appear, and each one of them will claim that he is Allah's Apostle, (3) till the religious knowledge is taken away (by the death of Religious scholars) (4) earthquakes will increase in number (5) time will pass quickly, (6) afflictions will appear, (7) Al-Harj, (i.e., killing) will increase, (8) till wealth will be in abundance ---- so abundant that a wealthy person will worry lest nobody should accept his Zakat, and whenever he will present it to someone, that person (to whom it will be offered) will say, 'I am not in need of it, (9) till the people compete with one another in constructing high buildings, (10) till a man when passing by a grave of someone will say, 'Would that I were in his place (11) and till the sun rises from the West. So when the sun will rise and the people will see it (rising from the West) they will all believe (embrace Islam) but that will be the time when: (As Allah said,) 'No good will it do to a soul to believe then, if it believed not before, nor earned good (by deeds of righteousness) through its Faith.' (6.158) And the Hour will be established while two men spreading a garment in front of them but they will not be able to sell it, nor fold it up; and the Hour will be established when a man has milked his she-camel and has taken away the milk but he will not be able to drink it; and the Hour will be established before a man repairing a tank (for his livestock) is able to water (his animals) in it; and the Hour will be established when a person has raised a morsel (of food) to his mouth but will not be able to eat it."(Bukharee:6664)
The earthquake is a sign of the coming of the judgment day. Hope we take it as a lesson.

PATIENCE

We must defeat laziness when it comes to us and train ourselves accustomed to learning. Ikrimah rahimahulloh said: “Ibnu Abbas rahimahulloh tied my legs during learning Koran and Hadeeth.
So, right a poet said: “The soul is like a baby. If you let him, he will like to be suckled. And if you wean him, he will stop”

Ibnul Qoyyim rahimahulloh said: “Our teacher (Ibnu Taimiyyah) told me: “When I was sick, a doctor said to me: “In truth, your reading and your talking about the Islamic science will make you worse. I answered: “I am not patient to stop it. Now answer my question: are happiness and strong heart able to dispel diseases?” the doctor answered: “You’re right”. I said again: “So is my heart. It likes Islamic science and I am happy with it. The doctor said: “That’s not the way we cure our patients”

THE ADVICE OF IBN HAMBAL

Great people always leave words that fill the full contents and benefits for all people even years afterwards. Therefore, many words of the great people are written on books, and then a lot of people get inspiration from there. One of the great people in Islam that had many inspired words is Imam Ahmad bin Hambal rodhiyallohu 'anhu.
Someone discovered Ibn Hambal rodhiyallohu 'anhu and said: "Give advice to me." Ibn Hambal said: "If Alloh subhanahu wa ta'ala has ensured sustenance, why do you grieve? If the change from Alloh is real, for what you are stingy. If the heaven is real, what do you relax for?. If the hell is real, what do you engage in immoral acts for? If the question from Munkar and Nakir is real, what are you happy for? If this world is mortal, what is the tranquility for? If the reckoning is real, what do you collect property for? If all things are with qadha and qadar, what do you fear for? "
Subhanallohu. That is the word of a scholar in Islam. Ulama said based on a true science, not merely based on desire.

NASIHAT ULAMA’

Orang – orang besar selalu meninggalkan perkataan – perkataan yang bernas penuh isi dan manfaat bagi semua orang bahkan berjuta tahun setelahnya. Karena itulah banyak kata – kata mutiara dari orang – orang besar itu yang kemudian dibukukan dan banyak orang yang mendapatkan inspirasi dari sana. Salah satu orang besar dalam Islam yang banyak mengeluarkan kata – kata mutiara itu adalah Imam Ahmad bin Hambal rodhiyallohu ‘anhu.
Seseorang menemui Ibnu Hambal rodhiyallohu ‘anhu lalu berkata: “Berikan nasihat kepadaku.” Maka beliau Ibnu Hambal berkata: “Jika Alloh subhanahu wa ta’ala telah menjamin rezeki, mengapa kamu bersedih? Jika ganti yang diberikan Alloh itu nyata, untuk apa bakhil? Jika surga itu nyata, untuk apa bersantai? Jika neraka itu adalah nyata, untuk apa bermaksiat? Jika pertanyaan Munkar dan Nakir itu nyata, untuk apa bersenang – senang? Jika dunia ini fana, untuk apa ketentraman? Jika hisab itu nyata, untuk apa mengumpul – ngumpulkan harta? Jika segala sesuatu ada qadha dan qadarnya, untuk apa takut?”
Subhanallohu. Itulah perkataan seorang ulama’ besar dalam Islam. Ulama yang selalu berkata berdasarkan ilmu yang benar, bukan berdasarkan nafsu semata.

NIAT

Adzan dzuhur berkumandang. Beberapa orang tampak mendatangi seruan itu. Seusai adzan, mereka menjalankan shalat sunnah. Nampak oleh ustadz Abdurrohman seorang pemuda yang berkali – kali mengangkat tangannya – takbirotul ikhrom – untuk memulai shalat. Ustadz Abdurrohman mendekat kepada pemuda itu. Saat sang pemuda kembali mengangkat tangannya untuk yang kesekian kali. Ditepuklah pundaknya oleh Usatdz. “Anakku, mengapa engkau harus berkali – kali mengangkat tanganmu untuk takbirotul ikhrom?”
“Ustadz saya belum berniat” jawab pemuda itu dengan santun. Ustadz Abdurrohman kembali bertanya, “Benarkah anakku?, lalu dengan tujuan apa engkau datang kemari?”. Dijawabnya, “Tentu saja untuk shalat ustadz”. Maka ustadz Abdurrohman mengajak pemuda itu duduk, lalu beliau berkata, “Anakku, setiap manusia yang berakal tidak mungkin melakukan suatu amalan tanpa niat. Bahkan ada beberapa ulama yang mengatakan bahwa jika Alloh menugaskan suatu amalan kepada kita dengan tanpa niat, niscaya itu menjadi tugas yang tidak mungkin disanggupi”.
Pemuda itu terpekur mendengarkan nasihat ustadz Abdurrohman. Kemudian ustadz Abdurrohman kembali berkata, “Maka anakku, angkat tanganmu dan shalatlah, karena kita tidak mungkin selamanya melakukan suatu amalan kecuali dengan niat. Jangan memperberat dirimu sendiri”

BOLEHKAH UMAT MUSLIM BERYOGA?

Selepas shalat maghrib, di masjid kami yang tenang, kuhampiri ustad Abdurrohman. Kuucapkan salam kepada beliau dan beliau membalas salam saya. Beliau menyalami saya dengan hangat dan menanyakan keperluan saya.
Saya memang sedang ada permasalahan dan permasalahan itu perlu saya tanyakan kepada orang yang memiliki ilmu agama Islam. Permasalahan itu adalah tentang berita yang saya baca tentang Malaysia yang melarang umat muslim di negaranya melakukan praktik yoga. Apakah syariat memang benar – benar melarang umat Islam untuk melakukan praktik yoga?
Dengan suara yang lembut dan mengawali jawabannya dengan kata anakku, beliau menjawab pertanyaan saya itu: umat Islam memang tidak seharusnya melakukan yoga karena dengan melakukan itu berarti mereka meniru kaum kuffar dalam hal yang menjadi kekhasan mereka. Dan meniru kekhasan kaum kuffar atau adat istiadat mereka adalah haram karena merupakan perwujudan wala’ (kesetiaan, kedekatan) kepada mereka. Padahal Rasululloh sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam bersabda: man tasabbaha bi qoumin fa huwa min hum, barangsiapa bertasyabbuh ( menyerupai ) dengan suatu kaum maka ia termasuk dari mereka (HR. Ahmad, Abu Daud, dan dishahihkan oleh Ibnu Hibban)
Kemudian ustad Abdurrohman meneruskan bahwa masih banyak olah raga yang diperbolehkan dalam agama Islam. Rasululloh pernah memerintahkan agar umatnya berlatih berenang, memanah dan berkuda. Ketiga olah raga itu tentu lebih baik daripada yoga.
Kini jelaslah semua. Saya pun mengucapkan terima kasih dan akan beringsut pergi. Tapi ustad Abdurrohman menahan saya agar menunggu shalat isya’ di masjid saja. Saya menurut. Sambil menunggu shalat isya’ itu ustad Abdurrohman menasihati kami tentang pentingnya bagi umat Islam untuk melaksanakan ajaran agamanya dengan sekuat tenaga. Dan tidak meniru – niru orang kafir.

KARTUN NABI DAN HUKUM GAMBAR

Berkali kali umat Islam merasa dilecehkan dengan beredarnya gambar – gambar yang diklaim sebagai gambar Nabi Muhammad Shalallohu ‘alaihi wasallam. Sebenarnya umat Islam tidak perlu terprovokasi dengan gambar – gambar serupa itu. Karena menggambar mahluk bernyawa, apalagi dianggap sebagai gambar Nabi Shalallohu ‘alaihi wasallam tidak diperbolehkan dalam agama Islam. Oleh karena itu, barangsiapa yang menggambar mahluk bernyawa, berarti dia bodoh dengan ajaran Islam. Jika mereka yang melakukan itu adalah seorang muslim, wajib bagi muslim lainnya yang memiliki ilmu untuk mendakwahinya dengan lemah lembut. Sedangkan jika yang melakukannya adalah orang non muslim, yang dengan melakukan hal itu ia berharap mendapatkan keuntungan, umat Islam tidak perlu menanggapinya. Umat Islam memiliki banyak kewajiban. Tidak perlu membuang – buang waktu untuk mengurusi orang – orang yang bodoh.
Hukum menggambar mahluk bernyawa adalah haram dalam Islam. Berikut yang disabdakan oleh Nabi Shalallohu ‘alaihi wasallam yang menjadi dasar dalam pengharaman gambar mahluk bernyawa:

1. “Diriwayatkan dari Aisyah bahwa ia membeli bantal kecil buat sandaran yang ada gambarnya-gambarnya. Ketika Rasululloh Shalallahu 'alaihi wassalam melihatnya beliau berdiri di pintu tidak mau masuk maka ia mengetahui ada tanda kebencian di muka Rasululloh dari Aisyah pun berkata : aku bertaubat kepada Allah dan Rasulnya, apakah gerangan dosa yang telah kuperbuat? Rasulullah menjawab : bagaimana halnya bantal itu? Aisyah menjawab, Saya membelinya agar engkau duduk dan bersandar, kata Rasulullah 'Sesungguhnya orang yang membuat gambar ini akan disiksa pada hari kiamat seraya dikatakan kepada mereka : hidupkanlah gambar-gambar yang kamu buat itu. Sungguh rumah yang ada gambar ini di dalamnya tidak dimasuki Malaikat.” (Riwayat Bukhari Muslim)
2. “Manusia yang paling pedih siksaannya di hari kiamat ialah yang meniru Allah menciptakan makhluk (pelukis, penggambar adalah peniru Allah dalam menciptakan makhluknya).” (Riwayat Bukhari Muslim)
3. “Nabi Shalallahu 'alaihi wassalam ketika melihat gambar di rumah tidak mau masuk sebelum gambar itu dihapus” (riwayat Bukhari).
4. “Rasulullah melarang gambar-gambar di rumah dan melarang orang berbuat demikian.” (riwayat Turmudzi).

Sedangkan jika kita menggambar selain mahluk yang bernyawa, itu diperbolehkan. Berikut dalil dari Ibnu ‘Abbas radhiyallohu ‘anhu:
“Apabila anda harus membuat gambar, gambarlah pohon atau sesuatu yang tidak ada nyawanya.” (riwayat Bukari).

Sekali lagi, kita tidak perlu menanggapi orang – orang bodoh yang menggambar seorang lelaki dan mengatakan bahwa itu adalah Nabi agung Muhammad sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam.

KARTUN NABI MUHAMMAD

Kita umat muslim seharusnya membiarkan mereka dengan kebodohan mereka. Islam adalah gunung. Sedang orang - orang bodoh itu laksana kambing buduk. Dapatkah sang kambing merobohkan gunung hanya dengan tanduk mereka yang rapuh? Meskipun saya tidak peduli dengan kebodohan mereka. Saya tertawa melihat mereka telah merasa berbuat sesuatu yang besar.
Wahai orang yang bodoh, matilah dalam kebencianmu.

EKSEKUSI ITU

Akhirnya Amrozi, Imam Samudra dan Mukhlas dieksekusi mati tadi malam. Saya tidak sependapat dengan mereka. Namun muncul kesedihan di hati saya mendengar berita itu. Semoga tidak ada lagi Muslim yang harus dihukum mati karena salahnya pemahaman mereka terhadap ajaran Islam yang agung. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un.

KAFIRKAH?

Amrozi dan teman – temannya, dari sebuah pemberitaan saya ketahui, selama di penjara tidak pernah memakan ransum yang memang disediakan untuk mereka. Mereka malah memesan makanan untuk mereka konsumsi setiap hari dari sebuah usaha katering. Mengapa demikian? Mereka katakan bahwa makanan dari sebuah pemerintah yang kafir, haram hukumnya. Benarkah pemerintah kafir?
Bisa jadi Amrozi, Imam Samudra dan Mukhlas, trio Bali bomber ini, mendasari pemahaman mereka dari ayat Al Qur’an berikut ini:
“Barangsiapa yang tidak memutuskan menurut apa yang diturunkan Alloh, maka mereka itu adalah orang – orang yang kafir.” (Al Maidah : 44). Kesimpulan mereka, pemerintahan yang sekarang, tidak berhukum dengan hukum Alloh. Maka, mereka kafir. Untuk itulah mereka memandang pengeboman yang mereka lakukan adalah syah menurut ajaran Islam, karena mereka melakukannya di sebuah Negara yang tidak berlaku hukum Alloh di dalamnya.
Namun, benarkah pendapat mereka? Apakah mereka telah menafsirkan Al Quran dengan benar? Berikut ini adalah penafsiran dari seorang shahabat Nabi Sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam yang termuka. Seorang yang disebut sebagai Hibrul Ummah (Tintanya Umat ini) shahabat mulia ‘Abdulloh bin ‘Abbas radhiyallohu ‘anhu, yang disepakati oleh kaum muslimin sebagai tokoh utama dalam menafsirkan Al Qur’an. Beliau berkata dalam menafsirkan ayat ini; “kekafiran, tetapi bukan sebagaimana kafir kepada Alloh, para Malaikat-Nya, Kitab – kitab-Nya dan para Rasul-Nya.” Dalam riwayat lain: "Kekafiran, bukan sebagaimana yang kalian pahami, bukan kafir yang mengeluarkan dari Islam, kufrun duna kufrin.” (Dikeluarkan oleh Al Hakim (2/33), katanya shahih sanadnya, disepakati oleh Adz Dzahabi)
Begitulah penafsiran dari seorang yang jauh lebih paham Al Qur’an daripada Amrozi dan teman – temannya.
Karena itu, wajib bagi setiap muslim untuk menuntut ilmu Agama dari ulama yang terpercaya agar mereka tidak tersesat.

SHALAT BERJAMAAH DI MASJID

Subuh itu saya terlambat bangun. Dari masjid dimana saya biasa shalat telah terkumandangkan adzan. Tapi, tidak seperti biasanya, adzan kali ini dilantunkan oleh seorang yang jelas – jelas telah berusia lanjut dan lemah. Suaranya parau dan lantunannya pun pendek – pendek. Mengapa orang setua itu masih juga adzan di waktu subuh? Apakah tidak ada orang yang lebih muda usia yang beradzan? Tentu lebih pantas jika adzan dikumandangkan oleh seorang muda yang bersuara lantang dan bernafas panjang.
Saya pun bergegas ke masjid untuk shalat subuh. Setelah iqomat, shalat subuh pun didirikan. Satu shaf pun tak penuh subuh itu. Tidak, tidak. Tiap subuh memang demikian. Bahkan di waktu – waktu shalat lainnya, shaf hanya nampak sebaris yang tak penuh. Dan seperti pengumandang adzan yang tadi, rata – rata orang yang shalat di masjid pun adalah orang – orang yang telah tua usianya.
Masjid bisa dikatakan banyak di lingkungan saya. Tiap waktu – waktu shalat, adzan bergemuruh dari setiap masjid. Tapi jika kita masuk ke masjid – masjid itu, nyatalah bahwa keadaannya merata sama. Hanya sedikit orang yang shalat berjamaah ke masjid. Kemana umat Islam? Apakah mereka tidak lagi mendengar seruan?
Ustadz berkata bahwa shalat berjamaah di masjid itu wajib bagi umat Islam. Kata beliau, kewajiban ini dikuatkan oleh ayat – ayat Alloh dan hadits – hadits Nabi sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam yang shohih. Ayat Alloh subhanahu wa ta’ala yang beliau maksud adalah surat Al-Baqarah ayat 43 yang artinya: "Dan dirikanlah shalat dan tunaikanlah zakat serta ruku'lah bersama orang-orang yang ruku'". Al-Imam Abu Bakr Al-Kasaniy Al-Hanafiy mengatakan bahwa ayat ini adalah dalil dari wajibnya shalat berjamaah.
Bahkan dalam keadaan takut sekalipun Alloh memerintahkan untuk tetap mendirikan shalat berjamaah. Firman Alloh: "Dan apabila kamu berada di tengah-tengah mereka (shahabatmu) lalu kamu hendak mendirikan shalat bersama-sama mereka, maka hendaklah segolongan dari mereka berdiri (shalat) besertamu dan menyandang senjata…". (An-Nisa`:102).
Ada beberapa hadits Nabi sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam yang menjadi dasar atas wajibnya shalat berjamaah. Namun saya kira hadits berikut ini sudah cukup untuk saya ketengahkan di sini: Dari Abu Hurairah ia berkata: “Seorang laki-laki buta mendatangi Nabi lalu berkata: "Ya Rasulullah, sesungguhnya saya tidak mempunyai seorang penuntun yang mengantarkanku ke masjid". Lalu ia meminta Rasulullah untuk memberi keringanan baginya untuk shalat di rumahnya maka Rasulullah memberikannya keringanan. Ketika Ibnu Ummi Maktum hendak kembali, Rasulullah memanggilnya lalu berkata: "Apakah Engkau mendengar panggilan (adzan) untuk shalat?" ia menjawab "benar", maka Rasulullah bersabda: "Penuhilah panggilan tersebut." (H.R. Muslim)
Jika orang yang buta saja Rasululloh tetap perintahkan untuk shalat berjamaah di masjid, maka bagaimanakah dengan orang secara fisik sehat? Bukankah mereka lebih wajib mendatangi seruan untuk shalat berjamaah di masjid?
Lalu, apakah shalat berjamaah ini wajib bagi laki – laki dan sekaligus perempuan? Untuk muslimah, lebih utama bagi mereka untuk shalat di rumah saja. Namun jika mereka meminta izin untuk shalat berjamaah di masjid, kita tidak boleh melarangnya.

HADITS VERSUS ILMU PENGETAHUAN MODERN

Ada sebuah berita baru yang akan bertentangan dengan sebuah hadits nabi Sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam. Berita itu adalah; Anderson Cancer Center melaporkan penelitiannya bahwa wanita yang mencukur bulu ketiaknya sepuluh kali lebih rentan terkena kanker payudara dibandingkan dengan wanita yang tidak mencukur bulu ketiaknya
Padahal Rasululloh Sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam bersabda bahwa; “Sepuluh perkara termasuk fitrah, yaitu; menggunting kumis, memelihara jenggot, bersiwak, istinsyaq (menghirup air dengan hidung), memotong kuku, membasuh persendian, mencabut bulu ketiak, mencukur bulu kemaluan, dan istinja’” (HR. Muslim)
Jika ada pertentangan antara ilmu pengetahuan modern dengan hadits Nabi yang nota bene hidup beratus abad yang lalu, manakah yang akan kita dahulukan?
Yang harus kita dahulukan adalah hadits Nabi Sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam. Karena, apapun yang disabdakan Nabi, merupakan wahyu dari Alloh. Rasululloh Sholallohu ‘alaihi wasallam tidak pernah berkata atas dasar hawa nafsunya.

THE LAW OF BEARD

I tried to find the Islamic law for a Muslim beard. As I've written a few days ago, there was a friend who suggested that I should shave my beard because it is inappropriate for me. The beard can be inappropriate for me, but if Rasululloh ordered his umat to keep their beard, what is the meaning of propriety? After opening my books I got some hadits about the beard for a Muslim. Following the hadits I mean:

Prophet sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam said: "Cut mustache and maintain beard" (HR. Bukhori and Muslim)

"Trim mustache and maintain beard" (HR. Bukhori and Muslim)

"Differ the idolaters, maintain beard and cut mustache" (HR. Bukhori)

"Trim mustache, leave beard, differ the Majusi" (HR. Muslim)

"Ten, including disposition; cut mustache, maintain beard, brush the teeth with siwak, istinsyaq (breathe in the water with the nose), cut nails, rinse joint, pluck armpit hair, shave genitalia hair, and istinja '" (Muslim HR.)

From Ibn Umar radhiyallohu 'anhu, the Prophet sholallohu' ‘alaihi wa sallam; "Truly he ordered to cut mustache and maintain beard " (HR. Muslim)

From the hadits I wrote above, a well-known Islamic theologian, Imam Nawawi rohimahulloh said; "Finally, there are five history. All the words mean the same; let it as it is "(Sahih Muslim Syarah). This means that, without any changes.

Al 'ifaa' means let and release up the beard to a lot without shaving. Aufiruu is the same meaning with the u'fuu leave the beard unshaven.

I am stable now in maintaining my beard and prolong it because it is a Muslim identity. When together with a group of people, others will know that I am a Muslim because the beard because, typical of a man today is shaving his moustache and beard.
As the last of this writing, following a hadits that will reinforce us in maintaining beard;

When Kisra (Persian ruler) sent two people to meet the Prophet sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam, they meet the Prophet in shaven beard and long mustache. Rasululloh sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam did not like to see both of them. He said: "woe you! Who ordered you like this?” They said," Our Rabb (Kisra) ordered us like this "Rasululloh said," but my Rabb ordered me to maintain my beard and trim my moustache "(HR. Thabrani, Hasan)

HUKUM MEMELIHARA JENGGOT

Saya berusaha mencari sandaran hukum atas jenggot bagi seorang muslim. Seperti yang telah saya tulis beberapa hari lalu, ada seorang teman yang menyarankan agar saya mencukur jenggot karena jenggot itu tidak pantas bagi saya. Bisa jadi memang jenggot itu tidak pantas bagi saya, namun jika Rasululloh memerintahkan umatnya agar memelihara jenggot, apalah arti pantas atau tidak dihadapan manusia yang lain? Setelah membuka – buka buku saya mendapatkan beberapa hadits tentang perintah memelihara jenggot bagi seorang muslim. Berikut ini hadits – hadits yang saya maksud:

Nabi sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda:
“Potonglah kumis dan peliharalah jenggot” (HR. Bukhori dan Muslim)

“Pangkaslah kumis dan peliharalah jenggot” (HR. Bukhori dan Muslim)

“Selisihilah orang – orang musyrik, lebatkanlah jenggot dan potonglah kumis” (HR. Bukhori)

“Potonglah kumis, biarkanlah jenggot, selisihilah orang – orang Majusi” (HR. Muslim)

“Sepuluh perkara termasuk fitrah, yaitu; menggunting kumis, memelihara jenggot, bersiwak, istinsyaq (menghirup air dengan hidung), memotong kuku, membasuh persendian, mencabut bulu ketiak, mencukur bulu kemaluan, dan istinja’” (HR. Muslim)

Dari Ibnu Umar radhiyallohu ‘anhu, dari Nabi sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam; “Sungguh beliau memerintahkan untuk memotong kumis dan memelihara jenggot” (HR. Muslim)

Dari kesekian hadits yang saya tulis di atas seorang ulama besar Islam, Imam Nawawi rohimahulloh berkata; “Walhasil, ada lima riwayat. Seluruh kata tersebut maknanya sama yaitu biarkanlah sebagaimana adanya” (Syarah Shahih Muslim). Artinya, tanpa ada perubahan.

Al ‘ifaa’ berarti membiarkan dan melepaskan jenggot hingga menjadi banyak tanpa mencukurnya sedikitpun. Aufiruu semakna dengan u’fuu yaitu biarkanlah secara utuh tanpa dicukur.

Mantaplah saya dalam memanjangkan dan memelihara jenggot saya itu karena jenggot itu merupakan identitas seorang muslim. Ketika bersama – sama dengan serombongan orang, orang akan mengetahui bahwa saya seorang muslim karena memanjangkan jenggot. Karena, tipikal seorang lelaki pada saat ini adalah berwajah licin tanpa ada kumis bahkan jenggot.

Sebagai penutup dari tulisan ini, berikut ini sebuah hadits yang akan menguatkan kita dalam memelihara jenggot;

Ketika Kisra (penguasa Persia) mengutus dua orang untuk menemui Nabi sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam, mereka menemui Nabi dalam keadaan jenggot tercukur dan kumis lebat. Rasululloh sholallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam tidak suka melihat keduanya. Beliau bertanya: “Celaka kalian! Siapa yang memerintahkan kalian seperti ini?” Keduanya berkata; “Rabb kami (tuan kami yaitu Kisra) memerintahkan kami seperti ini” Rasululloh bersabda, “Akan tetapi Rabbku memerintahkan aku untuk memelihara jenggotku dan menggunting kumisku” (HR. Thabrani, Hasan)

HUKUM BOM BUNUH DIRI DENGAN MELEDAKKAN DIRINYA SENDIRI DALAM SEBUAH MOBIL

Pertanyaan: Bagaimana hukum aksi jihad dengan cara bunuh diri, seperti memasang bahan peledak dalam sebuah mobil dan menghancurkan pihak musuh dengannya. Padahal si pelaku tahu, tanpa ragu, bahwa aksinya itu akan berdampak pada kematian dirinya sendiri?
Jawaban: Sesungguhnya, menurut pendapat saya, si pelaku dianggap sebagai orang yang bunuh diri dan akibatnya, ia akan dihukum di neraka. Sebagaimana dikuatkan oleh hadits Nabi sal-Allaahu `alayhi wa sallam:

“Sesungguhnya, barangsiapa dengan sengaja membunuh dirinya sendiri, niscaya ia akan dimasukkan ke dalam neraka dan dia akan tinggal di sana selamanya”. [Bukhari (5778) dan Muslim (109 dan 110)]

Namun, jika si pelaku jahil dan tidak tahu dan beranggapan bahwa aksinya itu baik dan merupakan ibadah kepada Alloh Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala, kita berharap Alloh Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala akan mengampuninya karena ia telah berijtihad dengan kebodohan. Meskipun demikian, saat ini, saya tidak mendapatkan adanya ampunan baginya karena bunuh diri jenis ini telah tersebar luas dan dikenal oleh banyak orang. Yang dengan demikian, sebenarnya ia bisa menanyakan permasalahan ini kepada ulama yang akan menunjukkan kepadanya mana yang benar dan mana yang salah.
Terlebih, para pelaku pengeboman melakukan bunuh diri meskipun Alloh Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala telah melarang hal ini:

“Dan janganlah kamu membunuh dirimu. Sungguh Alloh maha penyayang kepadamu” [Surat an-Nisaa., Ayat 29].

Dan kebanyakan pelaku pengeboman melakukan aksi bom bunuh diri itu dengan tujuan untuk membalas dendam dengan cara apapun, entah halal ataupun haram. Jadi mereka hanya ingin memenuhi keinginan untuk balas dendam saja.
Kita berdoa kepada Alloh semoga Dia memberi petunjuk kepada kita dalam beragama dan bertindak. Sungguh Dia maha kuasa atas segala sesuatu.

Pertanyaan: Bagaimana hukum bunuh diri dalam Islam?
Jawaban: Bunuh diri adalah membunuh dirinya sendiri dengan sengaja dengan cara apapun. Hal ini adalah haram dan termasuk dosa besar. Dan hal ini termasuk dalam firman Alloh Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala:

“Dan barangsiapa membunuh seorang yang beriman dengan sengaja, maka balasannya adalah neraka jahannam, dia kekal di dalamnya. Alloh murka kepadanya, dan melaknatnya serta menyediakan azab yang besar baginya”. [Surat an-Nisaa, Ayat 93].

Dan juga dikuatkan oleh sabda Nabi sal-Allaahu `alayhi wa sallam:

“Sesungguhnya, barangsiapa dengan sengaja membunuh dirinya sendiri, niscaya ia akan dimasukkan ke dalam neraka dan dia akan tinggal di sana selamanya”. [Bukhari (5778) dan Muslim (109 dan 110)]

Kenyataannya, orang yang bunuh diri disebabkan oleh situasi sempit yang merupakan ujian dari Alloh atau karena disebabkan oleh perilaku orang itu sendiri. Lalu ia tidak mampu mengatasi masalah yang melandanya. Orang seperti ini layaknya seseorang yang meminta bantuan orang lain agar menyelamatkannya dari api yang akan membuatnya hangus terbakar. Maka, jika dia melakukan tindak bunuh diri, bisa dikatakan bahwa dia telah beralih posisi; dari posisi yang buruk (situasi sempit) ke posisi yang lebih buruk (bunuh diri yang mengakibatkan murka Alloh). Padahal, jika ia bersabar, Alloh akan menolongnya dari situasi yang sulit itu.

ARTIKEL PENDIDIKAN ISLAM

Beberapa hari lalu ada sebuah peristiwa yang membuat saya harus berpikir ulang untuk meneruskan kelangsungan blog ini. Awalnya, saya membuat blog ini untuk menuliskan tanggapan – tanggapan saya atas praktek pendidikan yang terjadi di tanah air. Sebagai individu, tentu saya mempunyai pandangan – pandangan yang subyektif atas permasalahan pendidikan di Indonesia. Namun, saya harapkan, pandangan subyektif itu bisa menjadi sumbangan, meskipun kecil, bagi perkembangan pendidikan di negeri kita.

Dan, seperti yang saya tulis di awal, ada sesuatu di tengah perjalanan yang membuat saya melihat kembali tujuan dari pembuatan blog ini. Sesuatu itu adalah sebuah tulisan dari seseorang di dalam blognya. Seseorang itu beragama Islam tapi dia memuat tulisan di dalam blognya sebuah tulisan yang sangat merendahkan agama Islam. Dia sama sekali tidak takut dengan dosa dan seolah dia malah menikmati perbuatan dosanya itu dengan kebanggaan.
Saya tidak akan menuliskan siapa nama dari seseorang itu, karena saya yakin bahwa tindakan – tindakan atas pencemaran agama Islam adalah tindakan – tindakan yang didasarkan atas ketidak tahuan dan kebodohan atas ajaran Islam itu. Karena itu saya berharap dan berdoa semoga Alloh menunjukinya jalan dan dia bertobat atas dosanya sebelum ajal menemuinya. Karena jika ajal telah tiba, sedang dia belum juga bertobat atas dosa yang dilakukannya, pintu ampunan Alloh pasti telah tertutup baginya. Dan ini adalah bencana yang sangat dan teramat besar.
Tulisan yang dibuat dan diterbitkan di dalam blognya itu membuat saya ketakutan dengan keadaan diri saya sendiri. Saya takut sekali jika suatu saat nanti saya akan berubah seperti seseorang itu; melecehkan agamanya sendiri dengan kebanggaan penuh. Kenapa saya takut? Saya telah katakan bahwa tindakan – tindakan atas pencemaran agama Islam adalah tindakan – tindakan yang didasarkan atas ketidak tahuan dan kebodohan atas ajaran Islam, dan saya adalah salah satu dari orang yang bodoh dengan ajaran agama saya sendiri.
Untuk itulah saya merasa perlu untuk kembali belajar tentang agama saya. Mudah – mudahan Alloh selalu menjaga niat dan semangat saya dalam mempelajari Islam.
Dalam Islam, mempelajari Islam haruslah melalui seorang guru (ustadz, kyai, syeikh). Otodidak dalam mempelajari Islam kurang disukai karena banyak permasalahan – permasalahan agama yang pelik, memerlukan penjelasan dari seorang yang lebih memahami Islam. Jika seseorang memaksakan diri mempelajari Islam hanya dari buku – buku, dikhawatirkan ia akan tersesat dikarenakan salah dalam memahami.
Untuk itulah saya akan mempelajari Islam dari seorang atau beberapa guru. Untuk blog ini, saya akan menerbitkan tulisan – tulisan dari ulama – ulama yang sudah terkenal dalam keilmuannya baik yang berbahasa Inggris, yang lalu saya terjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia, ataupun yang berbahasa Indonesia.
Mengapa harus saya terbitkan di dalam blog? Saya berharap banyak yang akan memetik manfaat darinya.
Saya akan tetap menulis artikel tentang pendidikan umum namun bukan di sini tempatnya. Sedang artikel pendidikan saya yang sebelumnya, tetap akan ada di blog ini karena memindahkannya satu persatu tentu membutuhkan waktu yang cukup banyak.
Selebihnya, jika ada kesalahan, saya berharap ada perbaikan dari anda semua karena saya adalah seorang yang awwam. Mudah – mudahan Alloh memudahkan jalan yang akan saya tempuh.

LEBARAN SEBENTAR LAGI

Hari raya kaum muslimin, haru raya ‘Iedul Fitri, hampir tiba. Hari raya ini menggembirakan semua umat muslim. Saya, saat kecil dulu, selalu menanti – nantikan hari raya itu. Hari raya berarti makanan yang melimpah, baju yang baru, uang saku dari orang – orang tua dan petasan. Beberapa hari lalu, saya mendapatkan sebuah bulletin yang berkenaan dengan hari raya ‘Iedul Fitri itu. Saya merasa perlu untuk membaginya dengan anda. Silahkan anda baca.

Setelah melewati hari – hari Ramadhan yang penuh dengan ujian dan cobaan, serta rintangan, kini tibalah saatnya, kaum muslimin seluruh dunia merayakan ‘Iedul Fitri dengan penuh rasa senang dan kegembiraan yang meliputi jiwa – jiwa mereka. Di hari itu, segenap kaum muslimin saling bertemu dan bersilaturahmi dan persahabatan. Orang – orang kaya berbagi bahagia dengan fakir miskin dengan membayar zakat fitrah kepada mereka. Seyogyanya bagi setiap muslim memahami makna ‘Iedul Fitri dengan benar sesuai dengan yang dituntunkan Rasulullah, agar tidak terjatuh kedalam kesalahan dan hal – hal terlarang yang ia lakukan di hari yang mulia itu.
Makna dan Pensyariatan ‘Ied
Secara bahasa, ‘Ied ialah sesuatu yang kembali dan berulang – ulang. Secara istilah ialah sesuatu yang biasa datang dan kembali dari satu tempat atau waktu.
Dan dinamakan ‘Ied karena Alloh memberikan kebaikan dengan berbuka setelah kita berpuasa dan membayar zakat fitrah. Dan juga dengan disempurnakannya haji, setelah diperintahkannya thawaf dan qurban. Karena, biasanya pada waktu – waktu tersebut terdapat kesenangan dan kebahagiaan.
Keberadaan dua hari ‘Ied merupakan rahmat Alloh yang dikhususkan kepada umat ini sebagai pengganti dari semua hari raya lainnya.
Sebagaimana dalam suatu hadits dari Anas, beliau berkata:
Rasulullah datang dan penduduk kota Madinah memiliki dua hari, mereka gunakan dua hari itu untuk bermain (dengan permainan) di masa jahiliyyah, lalu beliau bersabda: “Aku telah mendatangi kalian sedang kalian memiliki dua hari raya yang kalian gunakan untuk bermain di masa jahiliyyah, sungguh Alloh telah menggantikan untuk kalian dua hari yang lebih baik dari itu, yaitu hari Nahr (‘Iedul Adha) dan hari Fithr (‘Iedul Fithri). [HR. Abu Dawud, An-Nasa’i, Ahmad dan Al Hakim dengan sanad yang shahih]
Hukum Shalat ‘Ied
Hukum shalat ‘Ied adalah fardhu ‘ain, wajib bagi setiap muslim untuk mengerjakannya. Dan dahulu Rasulullah senantiasa menjaga shalat ‘Ied. Ini merupakan dalil akan wajibnya shalat ‘Ied. Dan jikalau shalat ‘Ied jatuh pada hari Jum’at, maka dapat menggugurkan kewajiban shalat Jum’at. Sesungguhnya sesuatu yang bukan wajib, tidak mungkin dapat menggugurkan kewajiban lain.
Waktu dan Tempat Mendirikan Shalat ‘Ied
Waktunya adalah setelah terbitnya matahari setinggi tombak waktu dhuha hingga tergelincirnya matahari waktu dhuhur. Dan diantara hikmahnya, agar kaum muslimin memperoleh kesempatan untuk menunaikan kewajiban zakat fithrah. Disunnahkan mengerjakan shalat ‘Ied di tanah lapang di luar pemukiman kaum muslimin, kecuali ada udzur, hujan dan yang semisalnya, maka boleh dikerjakan di masjid.
Tidak Ada Adzan dan Iqomah
Dari Ibnu Abbas keduanya berkata:
Tidak pernah dikumandangkan adzan pada hari ‘Iedul Fithri dan ‘Iedul Adha [Muttafaqun ‘Alaih]
Ibnu Qoyyim - Rohimahulloh – berkata: “Dahulu, ketika Nabi sampai di tanah lapang, beliau memulai shalat tanpa adzan dan iqomah ataupun ucapan “ashsholaatu jaami’ah”,dan yang sunnah hendaknya semua itu tidak dikerjakan”.
Sunnah – Sunnah pada Hari ‘Ied
1. Mandi
Disunnahkan untuk mandi di hari ’Ied, namun apabila seseorang hanya berwudhu saja maka sah baginya, dan tata caranya seperti mandi besar (junub). Nafi’ meriwayatkan, bahwa dahulu Ibnu Umar mandi di hari ‘Iedul Fithri sebelum berangkat ke tanah lapang.
2. Berhias Sebelum Berangkat Shalat ‘Ied
Disunnahkan untuk membersihkan diri dan mengenakan pakaian terbaik yang dimilikinya, memakai minyak wangi dan bersiwak.
Sebagaimana Ibnu Abbas berkata:
“Dahulu Rasululloh mengenakan burdah berwarna merah pada hari ‘Ied”
Adapun wanita, tetap dianjurkan berpakaian yang baik dengan syarat tidak memakai minyak wangi dan tidak bertabarruj (memamerkan aurot) agar tidak menimbulkan fitnah.
3. Makan Sebelum Berangkat Shalat ‘Ied
Sebelum berangkat ke lapangan untuk shalat ‘Ied dianjurkan untuk makan terlebih dahulu dan dianjurkan memakan kurma dengan jumlah yang ganjil.
Dari Anas, beliau berkata:
Tidaklah Rasululloh keluar untuk shalat ‘Ied, sampai memakan beberapa butir kurma [HR. Bukhori]
4. Mengambil Jalan Berbeda Ketika Berangkat dan Pulang
Disunnahkan ketika pergi dan kembali dari shalat ‘Ied untuk mengambil jalan yang berbeda. Berdasarkan hadits Jabir yang artinya: “Bahwasanya Nabi pada hari ‘Ied mengambil jalan yang berbeda ketika berangkat dan pulang” [HR. Bukhori]
Hukum mengambil jalan yang berbeda ini hanya khusus pada dua hari ‘Ied dan tidak disunnahkan untuk amalan lainnya, seperti shalat Jum’at dan yang lainnya.
5. Berjalan Kaki Menuju Tanah Lapang
Diriwayatkan dari Ali bin Abi Thalib bahwasanya beliau berkata: “Termasuk sunnah ialah engkau berjalan kaki menuju shalat ‘Ied dan memakan sesuatu sebelum berangkat” [HR. Tirmidzi dan Ibnu Majah dan dihasankan oleh Al Albani]
6. Bertakbir
Alloh ta’ala berfirman:
“Dan agar kalian sempurnakan hitungan Ramadhan dan bertakbir, karena apa yang telah dikaruniakan Alloh kepada kalian, semoga kalian bersyukur” [QS. Al Baqarah: 185]
Waktu bertakbir dimulai setelah memasuki hari ‘Iedul Fithri hingga imam selesai berkhutbah, dan disyariatkan bagi setiap muslim untuk mengeraskan takbirnya tatkala keluar menuju tanah lapang untuk shalat, akan tetapi tidak dengan satu suara. Para ulama menjelaskan: “Sesungguhnya tidak disyariatkan bertakbir bersama – sama dengan satu suara (barengan)”
Sifat Shalat ‘Ied
Shalat ‘Ied dua rakaat sebagaimana hadits Umar, beliau berkata yang artinya: “Shalat orang musafir, shalat ‘Ied Adha, dan shalat ‘Ied Fithri adalah dua rakaat” [HR. Nasai dan Ahmad]
1. Memulai shalat dengan takbiratul ikhram seperti shalat – shalat lainnya.
2. Kemudian bertakbir setelahnya dengan tujuh takbir sebelum membaca surat dan tidak ada riwayat yang shahih dari Nabi bahwa beliau mengangkat kedua tangannya setiap kali takbir.
3. Tidak ada dzikir khusus yang shahih dari Nabi yang dibaca antara takbir – takbir ini, akan tetapi shahabat Ibnu Mas’ud berkata yang artinya: “Diantara dua takbir adalah memuji Alloh”
4. Kemudian membaca surat Al Fatihah, kemudian disunnahkan membaca surat Al Qaaf pada rekaat pertama dan membaca surat Al Qomar pada rekaat yang kedua atau membaca surat Al ‘Alaa dan Al Ghasyiah.
5. Kemudian bertakbir untuk rekaat yang kedua
6. Kemudian bertakbir di rekaat kedua dengan lima takbir seperti takbir rekaat yang pertama.
7. Kemudian membaca Al Fatihah dan surat yang telah disebutkan di atas, kemudian ruku’ dan sujud seperti pada shalat – shalat yang lainnya, setelah itu salam.
Adakah Shalat Sunnah ‘Ied?
Tidak ada shalat sunnah sebelum dan setelah shalat ‘Ied. Diriwayatkan dari Ibnu Abbas beliau berkata: “Sesungguhnya Nabi shalat ‘Iedul Fithri dua rekaat dan beliau tidak shalat sebelumnya ataupun sesudahnya” [HR. Bukhori]
Hukum Bagi Orang yang Tertinggal Shalat
Orang yang tertinggal dari shalat ‘Ied tidak disunnahkan untuk mengqadhanya (menggantinya), karena hal ini tidak ada contohnya dari Nabi. Dan shalat ‘Ied merupakan shalat yang dikerjakan secara khusus. Oleh sebab itu tidak disyariatkan kecuali dengan cara seperti itu.
Khutbah ‘Ied
Ibnu Qoyyim berkata:”Dahulu apabila Nabi menyelesaikan shalat, Beliau berpaling dan berdiri di hadapan para shahabat, sedangkan mereka duduk di barisan mereka. Beliau memberikan nasihat atau wasiat, dan memerintahkan serta melarang mereka. Beliau membuka khotbahnya dengan memuji Alloh. Tidak pernah ada riwayat bahwa beliau membuka khotbah ‘Iedul Fithri dan ‘Iedul Adha dengan bertakbir. Dan diberikan keringanan bagi orang yang menghadiri ‘Ied untuk mendengarkan khotbah atau pergi”
‘Ied Bertepatan dengan Hari Jum’at
Apabila ‘Ied bertepatan dengan hari Jum’at, maka itu bisa menggugurkan kewajiban shalat Jum’at. Akan tetapi bagi imam, hendaknya tetap mengadakan shalat Jum’at agar dihadiri oleh orang yang mengikuti shalat ‘Ied atau siapa yang ingin. Bagi yang tidak shalat Jum’at, maka sebagai pengganti Jum’at adalah shalat dhuhur. Tetapi yang lebih baik adalah tetap mengikuti keduanya.
Mengucapkan Selamat pada Hari ‘Ied
Mengucapkan selamat pada hari ‘Ied “taqobballohu minna wa minkum” (semoga Alloh menerima amal kebaikan kami dan kalian) atau a’aadallohu ‘alaika” (semoga Alloh memberimu kebaikan) atau yang semisalnya merupakan sesuatu yang mubah, karena beberapa shahabat dan tabi’in juga telah melakukannya.
Kemungkaran –Kemungkaran di Hari Raya
1. Meniru orang kafir dalam berpakaian, kita telah melihat sebagian kejadian aneh pada masyarakat kita, khususnya pada hari raya.
2. Banyaknya wanita yang bertabarruj (memamerkan aurot) dan tidak berjilbab. Sudah sepantasnyalah seorang muslimah menjaga kemuliaan dan kesucian agar menutup aurot, sebab kemuliannya dan kehormatannya pada agama dan kesuciannya.
3. Bercampur baur antara lawan jenis (ikhtilat), pada acara pertemuan keluarga atau yang lain. Sebagian besar orang menganggap remeh perbuatan menyalami perempuan yang bukan mahromnya seperti ipar dan anak paman, padahal agama Islam mengharamkannya.
4. Diantara keadaan yang perlu dilihat dan yang terjadi berulang – ulang pada malam Ramadhan dan hari raya adalah kelakuan anak – anak dan remaja memainkan mercon (petasan) yang dapat mengganggu orang yang shalat dan merusak ketenangan.
5. Sebagian orang Islam berduyun – duyun ziarah kubur setelah shalat ‘Ied atau sebelumnya. Hal ini adalah bid’ah munkaroh.
6. Sebagian orang menjadikan hari raya sebagai syiar kenekatan dengan melaksanakan kemaksiatan, sehingga ia melakukan hal – hal yang diharamkan dengan terang – terangan di siang hari seperti mendengarkan musik, makan makanan dan minum – minuman yang Alloh haramkan. Hanya kepada Allohlah kita mengadu, termasuk dalam hal ini menghidupkan hari raya dengan hal – hal yang diharamkan Alloh ta’ala, berkumpul untuk menggunjing dan namimah (mengadu domba) serta menyakiti kaum muslimin. Hendaklah kita menjauhi hal – hal di atas agar hari raya kita berpahala dan jauh dari dosa.
Inilah beberapa hukum – hukum dan sunnah seputar hari raya ‘Iedul Fithri. Mudah – mudahan Alloh ta’ala memudahkan kita dalam melaksanakannya dan mengamalkannya serta memberikan kesempatan bagi kita untuk bertemu dengan hari raya berikutnya.
Hendaknya kaum muslimin menyambut hari raya yang agung ini dengan ketaatan, kesederhanaan, tidak tabdzir (menyia – nyiakan) dan melampaui batas baik dalam makanan, pakaian, dan yang lainnya. Wallohu A’lam.
